Commentary by author and photographer Hans Halberstadt on the business of making and licensing stock photography of military and law enforcement subjects.
I was trained as a documentary filmmaker and produced short PR and educational programs before becoming involved in book projects in the mid-1970s. My first military book was about the US Coast Guard, quickly followed by others on the Army's paratroopers, Green Berets, tanks and armored vehicles, helicopters, SEALs, Marines, and many types of combat aircraft.
I'm a combat veteran of the US Army (Viet Nam, helicopter door gunner).
I am a Life Member of the Association of the US Army, a member of the UDT/SEAL Association, the 145th Combat Aviation Brigade Association, and the Author's Guild.
